CA & PD, Transport departments go online | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, April 28: Minister for Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CA&PD) and Transport, Qamar Ali Akhoon today launched departmental websites of CA&PD and transport at a simple function here at civil secretariat. The CA&PD website named as http: jkcapd.gov.in and that of Transport is http: jktransport.nic.in would open up the twin departments to public for the entire gamut of information. Home Pages of websites contain the entire profiles of the department and details about the classification of rationees like APL, BPL, AAY and other categories. The website would be updated from time to time to feed the people with the latest information about the departments, which will also be made available in Hindi and Urdu versions in the days ahead. Speaking on the occasion, Akhoon said that the website would serve as an effective tool to bring transparency in the functioning of the departments. He said the entire information will be available to the people on the click of button. The information about the availability of food grains, stock position and dispatch details besides sale outlets and host of other related matters would be available to the surfers, he added. Akhoon said people can also download the forms for securing ration tickets, driving licences etc at their homes, needing not to waste their time in visiting the offices for the purpose. The Minister said designing of websites had become absolute necessity as the people are increasingly going tech savvy, adding internet in Jammu and Kashmir is also emerging fast means of communication, which he described as healthy trend. On the occasion, the Minister and the Commissioner Secretary CA&PD signed an agreement on Result Frame work Document (RFD) for entering into performance for the period May 1, 2011 to March 31, 2012.
