| DPEO convenes meeting of ROs/ AROs of block Billawar | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
KATHUA, April 28:
The District Panchayat Election Officer, Kathua, Zahida Parveen Khan convened a meeting of ROs and AROs of Billawar block to discuss the election related arrangements here today.
The Panchayat elections in Billawar block will be held on May 4 in 6th phase. The DPEO discussed in detail with the ROs and AROs regarding checking of Ballot papers, distribution of election material, Ballot boxes etc.
Among others Additional Deputy Commissioner, Kathua, Rohit Khajuria, Assistant Commissioner Development Kathua and Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Dr. Vikas Gupta were present in the meeting.
Meanwhile Basohli block of Kathua district which will go to polls for Panchayat elections in the 5th phase on April 30 which has 34 panchayats.
230 polling stations have been established in the block.
Out of 230 polling stations 100 are normal, 118 are sensitive and 12 are hypersensitive. The block has 39821 voters which include 20966 male and 18855 female voters. 11 RO’s and 23 ARO’s have been appointed for the smooth conduct of the panchayat elections in the block. There are 34 sarpanch and 230 panch constituencies in the block. 124 candidates are in the fray for sarpanch elections and 364 for panch elections in the block which include 111 female and 253 male candidates.
