Low paid employees reject govt roadmap | Payment of arrears | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Apr 28: Thousands of employees from all over Jammu Province participated in mammoth march and rally held in Jammu city under the banner of All J&K Low Paid Employees Federation to pay tributes to martyrs. The employees also expressed strong resentment over the roadmap announced by the state government for the payment of arrears of 6th pay commission. Luder Mani, a senior low paid leader presided over the rally at Shaheedi Chowk which was addressed by Abdul Majid Khan, State President of the Federation, Giani Avtar Singh and Kishan Singh General Secretary of the Federation. Procession started from parade ground and passed through Purani Mandi, City Chowk, Raghunath Bazar and Residency Road. Later speaking to the gathering, Abdul Majid Khan criticized the government for double standards and said that while Ministers and legislatures will be paid arrears in one go, employees are being denied the same. Speakers also criticized anti people and anti working class policies of central and state governments due to which prices of essential commodities are soaring sky high day by day and the common men as well as the salaried classes are facing acute financial hardships. They thus demanded expeditious release of 6 percent DA installments, payments of 6th Pay Commission arrears in two installments on central pattern, regularization of Adhoc, Contractual and consolidated paid employees and raising of retirement age to 60 years.
