Association condemns discriminatory attitude of J&K govt | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Apr 28: All J&K Gaddi-Sippi Tribes Welfare Association has strongly condemned callous and discriminatory attitude of state government towards underprivileged and downtrodden Gaddi-Sippi Tribes. While addressing a press conference at Bhaderwah, state organizing secretary of association Parveen Kumar Jaryal asserted that these tribes having low literacy rate and negligible representation in government employment remain away from the mainstream of the society and are still yearning for the basic amenities of life. Jaryal further stated that discriminatory and callous stance of the state government has further added to woes of these Tribes. He said that state government has deprived the students of Gaddi and Sippi tribes of there right of pre-metric scholarship under ST category since 2008. Parveen Kumar urged concerned DDCs, BDOs and local MLAs to pay special attention towards the development of far flung Gaddi Sippi inhabitants. He also requested local MLAs and MLCs of the Gaddi and Sippi inhabited constituencies like Bhaderwah, Ramban, Ramnagar, Bani, Chenani to contribute out of their constituency development fund for development of Gaddi and Sippi inhabitants. Prominent among others who were present included Abhinesh, Shiv Kumar, Kewal Krishan and Tilak Raj.
