| Rao alleges discrepancies in Panchayat voter list | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Apr 28: All Jammu and Kashmir Movement for Peace and Justice (AJKMPJ) has sought detailed inquiry into the alleged wrongdoings of officers while preparing voter list for Panchayat elections.
In a handout issued here today, it has been stated that an emergency meeting was held at Thathri under the chairmanship of Kuldeep Kumar Rao wherein the issue of omission of new voters from the list was discussed threadbare. It has added that Secretary Panchayat has entered new Voters of all other Panchayat except those falling under the two wards of Joura Kalan Panchayat namely Joura Kalan ward and Shah Mohalla ward.
Rao has termed it willful omission and further added that when the officers were asked to rectify the mistake, secretary issued a copy of new voters to them saying that the list had been sent to returning officer and will be entered before 23-04-2011. But this was not done even up to 23-04-2011. Rao has demanded that a thorough inquiry into this willful negligence should be made and defaulters should be severely punished. Meeting was attended be Subash Chander, Anil Kuma, Ashok Kumar,Yog Raj Sharma, Hab Lal, Sabder Ali, Mool Raj, Lakhmi Chand, Mohd Amin, Jimal Din and others.
