Govt earmarks Rs 3.35 cr for Landoi Choi nallah: Bhalla | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, April 29: Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation Raman Bhalla said a proposal for developing parks in different areas of Gandhi Nagar city costing Rs 7 crore is also being pursued by him adding that the same will be completed in next year. He said the proposed parks will have all modern facilities for the convenience of public. This was stated by the Minister while interacting with the residents of Sector-6 and Shiva ji chowk at Nanak Nagar, here today. Bhalla informed that Government has earmarked Rs. 3.35 crore for covering of Landoi Choi nallah of Shivaji Chowk in Nanak Nagar, Sanjay Nagar and B/B II Extension localities. The Minister stressed upon the people not to put debris in nallahs adding that such mistakes blocked the nallahs than foul water has entered the houses which harm the life and property of the residents. Responding to the demand of locals of II Extension, Gandhi Nagar, Bhalla informed that a detailed project report costing Rs. 1 crore for covering of 100 meter nallah has been submitted under ADB loan-2 to Economic Reconstruction Agency adding that after completing tender formalities, the project could be started for the benefit of locals. At Sector 6 Ward No. 43 in Nagar Nagar, the Minister kick started 10000 sft upgradation and raising of lane and drain level works for which Government has earmarked Rs. 7 lakh. He asked the executing agency to using quality material on fixation of interlock tiles in the locality. At Sanjay Nagar and Nanak Nagar Sector-5, the Minister launched works for upgradation of twelve lanes and drains costing Rs. 38.50 lakh. He asked the executing agency to complete these within stipulated time frame by fixing interlock tiles adding that there is no compromise on quality. He said Government has resolved to create concrete assets across the State. At Sector-11 and Sector 13 in Nanak Nagar, Mr. Bhalla inaugurating pre-mixing work of link roads to be completed at an estimated cost of Rs. 25 lakh.
