| RR organises Blood determination camp | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, April 29: Rashtriya Rifles (RR) battalion under Romeo Force organized Blood Group Determination camp at Army Goodwill School. Nearly 1200 children and adults attended the camp.
The camp was organized for students of AGS, Potha with active support from Military Hospital, Surankote and was inaugurated by Commander, Sector Rashtriya Rifles.
Addressing the gathering Army Commander emphasized the importance of the camp and said that it is important to know the blood group. He said that at times people lose their lives because both donor and recipient are not aware of their blood group.
He further thanked the people for their continuous support to the army for bringing back the normalcy in the area. Block Development Officer (BDO), Surankote, Anirudh Rai thanked army for such a kind gesture and said that it will facilitate people to donate as well as receive blood, in case of any medical emergency.
Azim Khan, an octogenarian appreciated the noble effort put in by Army doctors for conduct of camp as awareness of blood group will enable them subsequently while applying for driving license, passport, unique ID and other important documents.
The camp was first of its kind in the area. Statement issued by Army says that similar camps are planned in future for the people in different parts of the tehsil. The camp commenced with a cultural programme presented by school children from AGS, Potha and event finally concluded with the felicitation of students and doctors by Commander Sector Rashtriya Rifles.
