| Female foeticide perpetuators be treated as murderers: Rana | | |  EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, April 29: Political Advisor to Chief Minister, Devender Singh Rana today said that the decreasing sex ratio in the country is alarming and those who perpetuate female foeticide should be treated as murderers and be brought to the book.
Rana said this at a seminar on female foeticide at Jammu Club organized by Rathore Education and Research Foundation.

Khajuria and various other social workers and women activists were present.
Rana said that the female foeticite is a slur on the present day society and this menace if not checked will have a devastating impact on the sex ratio. He hoped that the dignitaries present may spread the message of curbing the female foeticide thus help promoting balanced sex ratio. The need is to organize state level seminars by the government and private agencies to focus on raising the awareness to the fact of the sex selective foeticide and the issue be dealt through medical ethics and strong campaign, he added.
He said that we have a great task of changing the mindset of doctors and clients, to create a socio-cultural milieu that is conducive for girl child’s survival and monitor the activities of commercial minded techno-docs thriving on sexist prejudices. Then only we will be able to halt the process of declining sex ratio resulting into deficit of girls/women.
