JKNPP demands action against trespassers in Panchayat elections | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, April 29: the activists and workers of JKNPP today held a protest demonstration outside the office of the Chief Electoral Officer J&K demanding stern action against the govt. officers who trespassed into a counting station in Ghordi Block and resorted to hooliganism inside the counting hall besides interfering in the electoral process in a bid to support their favorite candidate in Elections. The protesters shouted slogans demanding immediate suspension and regular enquiry against Subash Chander Dogra, Tehsildar Relief, Jammu; Kulbhushan Kumar, Chief Accounts Officer (Tourism Department) and Tara Nath, Lecturer Govt. Degree College (Boys) Udhampur. The protesters alleged that the said govt. officers in utter defiance of all laws Employees Conduct Rules and the model code of conduct participated in Election Campaign of one Prem Nath, a contesting candidate for Sarpanch Elections from Birnu Panchayat of Block Ghordi and actively canvassed for him throughout the campaign period. The NPP leaders said that the govt. officers who were supposed to be on duty in Jammu and Udhampur had played truant with their duties and reached the Birnu Village only to sabotage the Elections. The NPP leaders further said that thought the said govt. officers could not succeed in their nefarious designs but they damaged the sanctity of electoral process besides offense under law as well as under Employees Conduct Rules. The leaders demanded immediate action against the delinquent officers failing which they warned of intensifying their protests and demonstrations.
