Sports strengthen cordial relations between police, public: DGP

ANANTNAG, April 29:
Director General of Police Kuldeep Khoda, today visited sports stadium Anantnag and watched the final match of T-20 Police Public cricket tournament, organized by Anantnag Police in which 29 teams of District Anantnag participated that got overwhelming response.
While addressing the sports lovers, Director General of police encouraged the youth and promised them, that the talented youth will be enrolled in the Police Training Academy for further coaching and counselling, so that the youth of Jammu and Kashmir will be able to represent state at national level.
A cash prize of Rupees 20000 was given to the wining team while sports kits and some necessary sports related material was given to all the teams who participated in the tournament
While talking to media on the sidelines of the function DGP said, “sports activities will help in strengthening the cordial relations between police and public, we have organized the tournament in order to develop sportsman qualities among the youth and organizing such tournaments will be our contionus process,”
Talking on government’s special rehabilitation policy, DGP Kuldeep Khuda said that 700 Kashmiri families have approached the government to facilitate home coming of their kith and kin who crossed over to Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) years ago to embrace militancy, adding that most of the applications have been identified and screened.
DGP Kuldeep Khoda said that if the graph of the militancy has come down but the incident that took place in Srinagar indicates that militant outfits are still present in Kashmir who are changing their strategies from time to time
Khoda also predicted a peaceful summer ahead and sanctioned Rs 5 lakh for the up-liftment of the Sports Stadium Anantnag.
