| Army School Jammu Cantt celebrates AWES raising day | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, APRIL 30:
The 28th Raising Day of Army Welfare Education Society (AWES) was celebrated by Army School Jammu Cantt (ASJC) in the school premises.
The school organized various activities and competitions to mark the significance of the day.
The programme commenced with the special assembly which comprised of a talk throwing light on the foundation of AWES, its history and initiatives taken for imparting education in various disciplines. The assembly concluded with AWES song inspiring students to achieve excellence in their pursuits.
There was mass participation of students in various class level painting competitions based on Social and environmental issues.
For Class X, a debate competition was organized Siddhant Kotnola was adjudged the best speaker. Second prize was won by Aditya. A vibrant rangoli was made highlighting AWES noble contribution in the spread of education and touching the heights of excellence.
The cultural bonanza was followed by prize distribution ceremony. Prizes & certificates were awarded to the deserving students by the Principal Anu Jandial. She congratulated the artists of the day for their extra ordinary performance and appreciated the efforts of the teachers for putting up such a grand show. She asked the students to participate in extra co curricular activities that makes physically and mentally fit.
