Notification issued for Panchayat polls in Poonch, Mandi blocks | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT POONCH, April 30: State Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) has issued Notification for conduct of Panchayat Election in Poonch and Mandi Blocks of Poonch district today. As per program candidates for Panch and Sarpanch can file nomination papers up to May 7 and scrutiny of papers will take place on May 9. Desirous candidates can withdraw their nomination papers up to May 11 and polling if necessary would take place on May 29for both the blocks. In order to ensure free fair and smooth elections district administration had made elaborate arrangements which include deployments of 4 Zonal Magistrates, 9 Sectoral Magistrates, 15 Returning officers and 17 Assistant Returning Officers for Poonch Block. Similarly for Mandi Block 5 Zonal Magistrate, 10 Sectoral Magistrate, 14 returning Officers and 18 Assistant Returning Officers have been deployed. There are 276 polling stations in Poonch and as 260 Polling Stations have been set up in Mandi Block. Details reveal that there are 32 Sarpanch and 276 Panch Constituencies in Poonch Block for whom 46824 voters including 22584 Female voters will cast their votes. In same manner 41769 voters including 20369 Female voters will exercise their franchise to elect 32 Sarpanch and 260 Panch Candidates on May 29.
