KUTA suspends president, secretary | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Srinagar, Apr 30 (KNS): Kashmir University Teacher Association has expelled its President and Secretary over the allegations of bringing disrepute to the teaching community and the Association. The expulsion has come in the backdrop of KUTA Vice President, Dr Ehtisham, tendering his resignation earlier. The KU teacher body held a special meeting two days ago which was attended by eight out of 11 executive members. The executive committee in a unanimous decision suspended incumbent President, M Y Ganai, and Secretary, Dr M I Mattoo, from their KUTA posts. “Ganai and Mattoo have brought disrespect and disrepute to the Association and the teaching community as they have violated fundamental provisions of the KUTA committee,” a KUTA press statement signed by eight executive members, said. It also claimed that Ganai as the President of the body failed to address the core issues like release of 6th Pay Commission arrears, enhancement in retirement age and conducting of interviews under the CAS. The newly-formed KUTA’s body has informed KU Vice-Chancellor and the Registrar about the changes in the body.
