Prominent Gujjar leaders join BJP: | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, April 30: A large number of prominent Gujjar leaders, including Choudhary Lal Hussain Lodha and Manzoor Hussain Badana joined the Bharatiya Janata Party at party headquarters. They were welcomed into the party fold by party’s State Chief Spokesperson & National Executive Member Dr. Jitendra Singh, who was introduced individually to each of these leaders and activists by Ghulam Ali Khatana, BJP Tribal Morcha Executive Member and Prahbari State Muslim Morcha. Dr. Jitendra Singh said that the BJP is the only political party at national level which was truly secular in character and has the capacity to safeguard the interests of both the majority community as well as the minorities. Unlike so called secular parties like Congress, the BJP never indulged in politics of subtle communalism, said Dr. Jitendra Singh and in this regard he referred to the revocation of Dogra certificate order wherein the National Conference had succumbed to communal diktats of Syed Ali Shah Geelani and the Congress party was equally accused of having connived in this communal design simply to continue its power-sharing arrangement with NC. Dr. Jitendra Singh alleged that Geelani seems to have become de-facto Chief Minister of the state as in case of forthcoming Amarnath Yatra too, the NC-Congress coalition felt obliged to curtail the period of the Yatra depending on Geelani’s diktats. He further warned the Congress coterie in Delhi that BJP will not tolerate any weakening of the state’s relationship with the Indian union at the best of Interlocutors report. On the occasion, Ghulam Ali Khatana said that some of the Gujjar leaders who joined the BJP said BJP was the only party which could effectively fight for fair share for Gujjars in government jobs and college admissions.
