SRINAGAR, April 30: Problems facing Amirakadal Constituency and Civil lines area of Srinagar were highlighted at a meeting of the party card holders of PDP here today.
Concern was expressed by participants over extremely bad condition of roads, lanes, drains and all civic aspects of life in the area. The meeting was held at the party head office was presided over by district president Mohd Ashraf Mir and Ab Hameed Kosheen.
The participants strongly condemned the government apathy over matter of public interest displayed by the NC government and its legislators for Srinagar.
The government’s brazen discrimination with the historic city came for discussion and the workers expressed anger at the shifting of rupees fifty crores from Srinagar to Jammu which were meant for city roads and development of Dal lake.
While not a single NC legislator raised his voice over this stealing of money from Srinagar, the commuters and tourists are facing harrowing times while traveling on the airport road. The long delay in completion of flyover at Hyderpora was adding to the troubles of commuters, office goers, students, traders and also the residents of Hyderpora, Parreypora and Barzulla area. These areas are affected by the dust and dirt as a result of the unending construction on the fly over.
