DDC pays surprise visit to various offices

JAMMU, MAY 01-District Development Commissioner, Kishtwar, Mr M H Malik alongwith District Social Welfare Officer, Headquarter Assistant and Naib-Tehsildar Karool under-took an extensive tour of Sarthal area.
While on way to Sarthal, the DDC visited High School Galigad, Ist Aid Sub-Center Galigad and Panchayatghar Galigad.
During the visit, the DDC went round different class rooms to ascertain the quality of education being imparted, mid day meal kitchen, store and bathroom were found in shabby condition. While interacting with students and staff, the DDC asked them to take their studies seriously. Incharge Headmistress was directed to maintain proper attendance register by incorporating the arrival and departure time. Two polling stations located in the school were physically inspected.
Ist Aid Sub-Centre Galigad was found being run smoothly, however, incharge was directed to ensure that antenatal/postnatal care under NRHM is effectively undertaken. Panchayatghar Galigad was found in good shape and fit for two polling stations being located there. The approach road to it requires to be spruced up for which necessary direction were issued.
At Agral, the DDC interacted with public of adjoining villages and listened to their grievances/problems. Main problems projected by the public were relating to providing of atta instead of wheat, completion of water supply scheme Kumarnag and filling the vacant posts of teachers. The DDC also visited Higher Secondary School Sarthal. The DDC went round different classrooms, mid day meal section and computer room.
During interaction with students/staff, DDC was informed that maximum students were without desks. Eight lecturer and computer teacher are not available. Kitchen shed for mid day meal and bathroom facility for Girls students are also not available. At Girls high school Sarthal, the building was found in dilapidated condition, with no door/window panes, no roofing and flooring and no desks for students. The school despite of its up gradation is without proper accommodation and out of 12 sanctioned strength of teaching staff and posts were vacant.
The office of RO/ARO and two pollinig stations located in the school were also checked. From Agral, the DDC left for Marwari and inspected under construction Naibat building, which is presently up to plinth level.
The DDC visited Ist Aid Centre Sarthal and went round Sarthal Mata temple complex and inspected the railing work of approach bridle path and discussed the arrangements to be made in view of the ensuing yatras.
