| Youth congress president alleges rigging, seeks re-poll | | Panchayat elections | | Early Times Report
SANGRAMA, May 1: Former MLA Sangrama and President Pradesh Youth Congress Committee (PYCC) J&K Shoaib Nabi Lone has alleged rigging in the Panchayat elections held in different Panchayat halqas of Sangrama constituency, the results of which were declared today.
In a press note issued here, PYC president has alleged that at the behest of local MLA, Panchayat polls were rigged in halqas Kreeri and Wizer. He has alleged that the activists of local MLA adopted all illegal means to rig elections and even used duplicate stamps.
Lone expressed disappointment over the indifferent attitude adopted by the authorities with regard to complaints made by the people. He has said that he will take up the issue with the party high command so as to exert pressure on the authorities to hold enquiry into the alleged rigging and ensure re-poll in these two halqas.
