| Anantnag T20 tourney gets underway | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
SRINAGAR, May 01: Organised by 1 Rashtriya Rifles, 162 TA, the Anantnag Twenty20 cricket tournament got underway today at Sports Stadium, Anantnag, here.
Being organised to select the district team for the Chinar Cup to be held in June, the event is aimed at encouraging the youth to develop sportsman sprit.
This tournament offers a number of attractive prizes meant for man of the match, man of the series, best bowler and best batsman.
Packed with sports lovers of the district, the audience enjoyed colourful cultural programme by the school children of Army Goodwill School.
Earlier, the tournament was declared open by Major General, Gurdeep Singh, General Officer Commanding, Victor Force. Prominent among others present were District Commissioner, SK Rizvi, Brig JVSNV Prasad, Commander 1 Sector Rashtriya Rifles and Shafqat Wattali, DIG South Kashmir.
