Second place for Sumit in All India Chess | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, May 01: Former state champion, Sumit Grover has brought laurels to the state winning second position in the All India Fide rating (below 2200) Chess Tournament concluded today at St. Xavier School Chandigarh. Sumit would have won the tournament had he not committed a mistake in the seventh round of the competition, reports reaching here informed. In all, 120 players from 11 states of the country took part in this event which held under the banner of All India Chess Federation. Meanwhile, back home, All J&K Chess Association president, Atul Kumar and secretary, Baldev Raj congratulated Sumit for the achievements. “Likewise Sumit, a number of other young boys have great prospects at the national level. During the last couple of years, state boys have worked hard, so we expect good results in future,” Atul Kumar told .
