NSF lodge protest, allege unfairness with Jammu

Jammu, May 1:- National Secular Forum (NSF) held a protest against Public Service Commission (PSC) to resist the select list which was issued by them.
The activists led by State President NSF, Vikas Sharma Taking strong note of the allegations of nepotism, favoritisms and discrimination in KAS final selection list, recently released by the Jammu Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC), and PSC deliberately favored some blue eyed candidates and flouted the norms in selection procedure for the KAS.
He said that most of those favoured in giving viva marks are relatives of PSC members. He said that the highest 205 marks, out of 250, has been awarded to a female candidate-selected in open category, who happens to the daughter of a PSC member. He said that while candidate had got only 952 marks in Mains Examination, her selection was managed by giving her 205 marks in viva. In sharp gap to this candidate Tahir Amin Sheikh who has tenable 1062 marks in mains-more than 110 marks that PSC member’ s daughter –was given 30 marks in viva and dropped by 2 marks in reserved category in the final list. Another candidate also a close next of kin of a member who had secured 1019 marks in mains was given 200 marks in viva to handle his access into final assortment list in open category, while on other hand a reserved category candidate Rehman Malik, from Rajouri bearing roll number 0902218 has secured 1010 marks in mains but has been dropped by one marks by giving him only 40 marks in viva.
He also said that PSC result several candidates who get 54 percent marks in mains examinations are getting only 8 to 12 percent marks in interview while on the other hand, some blue eyed candidates, who score just 40 percent to 45 percent marks in mains are getting 80 to 82 per cent in interview.
He added that latest selection process of KAS- 2009, the procedure of selection was allegedly violated at almost all stages of examination.
He also took the Congress Minister and MLAs from Jammu to task for adopting a stoic silence over this latest case of discrimination with Jammu.
NSF member also condemned the published list and ask government to look into the matter in which the PSC had took bribe in selection process by favoring the particular candidate.
They demanded a CBI investigation into the whole matter and decrease the viva marks from 250 to 40 so that candidates who performed well in mains get justice. They also demands separate PSC for Jammu.
Among those who were present in the Protest included, Surjit Choudhary, Sukdev Singh, Sunny Babber, Ravi Choudhary, Narinder Singh, Randeep Chib and Ajaz Shah.
