Civil society cautions people against people creatingsituation for Summer unrest

SRINAGAR, May 1: As the signs of Summer unrest are hovering over the skies in Kashmir this year again the common man seems to be perturbed over the happenings in Valley which for a couple of years are taking place soon after the darbar move to Summer Capital.
Though the Government was expecting violence free Summer this year in Kashmir, but the clouds of violence seem to are hovering over the skies of Kashmir with the stray killings of innocent people, police personnel, incidents of stone pelting and demonstrations.
The beginning of fresh violence reportedly started after the killing of Moulvi Shoukat at Amerakadal in the heart of Srinagar city in the middle of this month. It was preceded by a killing of a member of minority community in Tral area of Kashmir Valley, disappearance of a KP youth from Chandergam village in Anantnag district of South Kashmir, killing of a youth in Baramulla, two cops in outskirts of Srinagar city and incidents of stone pelting at various places claiming the life of one person.
Sensing trouble again this summer which has hit the normal life for four months in Kashmir valley the members of civil society are totally perturbed over the happenings and consider this all a part of big conspiracy to take Kashmir to the path of destruction. The people though hope that the government will take all necessarily measures to quell the violence, however apprehend trouble this Summer again.
The apprehensions of summer unrest were reflected in the rally of Low Paid Employees Federation (LPEF) held on the eve of May Day yesterday. Addressing the rally senior LPEF leaders cautioned the Government as well as the people of Valley against all those elements who are hell bent to disturb peace in the Valley.
The LPEF leaders said the valley people suffered a lot due to last year's Summer unrest hitting the trade to and other spheres of public life. They while cautioning the people against such elements who are hell bent to disturb the peace in Kashmir said the working class has been hit to a great extent due to last 21 years of turmoil. They also urged the government to take sufficient measures so that the common man does not suffer any mire in valley.
They said the vested elements hell bent on disturbing the peace are worst enemies of the people so they should not be trusted. They also appealed the leaders of political parties to play a positive role in normalizing the situation in the Valley.
A senior social activist of village Sumbalm in North Kashmir Haji Abdul Salam while expressing his resentment over the happenings in Valley said various issues are being raked up to create the trouble in the Valley again and if the Government fails to take premtive measures there is every apprehension of trouble this Summer too.
