| Stolen items recovered from thieves | | | JAMMU | NOV 18 Police today arrested four thieves who are reported have been involved in various theft cases in Banihal area police recovered a large quantity of stolen house hold items from their possession. According to reports, on a specific information police came to know that thieves are hiding in a room in the Banihal area. On the direction of SDPO, Yogesh Sharma, a police party headed by SHO, Abid Rafiq raided the hideout and arrested them. They arrested persons have been identified as Mohd. Salim, Bahar Ahmed, Nissar Ahmed, and Gulzar Ahmed all residents of Banihal. During the interrogation they confessed before the police that they have stolen nine mobiles 16 batteries, two cameras, 10 bed sheets, 2 car stereos and various house hold articles. Police also recovered instruments used in theft. It may also mention that an attempt was made by the thieves to strike State Bank of India branch at Banihal but failed in their attempts. Sources said that these thieves were active in Banihal area for the past some time. Interrogation is going on till the filling of the report. Meanwhile a case has been registered against them in police station, Banihal.
