GEJAC expresses satisfaction over success of strike | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, May 2: A general body meeting of Government Employees Joint Action Committee (GEJAC) was today held to take stock of the situation arising out after one day token strike on April 26. In the meeting, held under the chairmanship of senior committee member Gafoor Dar, all the senior leaders expressed satisfaction over the success of the strike but emphasized that there is need to further integrate the GEJAC network in whole of the Jammu Province. A joint strategy was formulated to further raise the unified structure of the GEJAC at district and tehsil headquarters till the summer secretariat reopens at Srinagar. Talks will also be initiated with the counterparts of the GEJAC at Srinagar and a State level programe will be announced in near future, they added Flaying the statements of the some employees during and after the agitation, the GEJAC leaders said that they stand exposed before the employees by their anti-employee activities They said that GEJAC protests, dharnas and strikes proved productive which forced the Government to issue orders for continuation of time bound promotion policy, release of 1% and 6% DA and while congratulating , described it as partial victory of the employees . They again reminded the Govt. not to force the employees to take on the confrontational path. A team of the GEJAC shall shortly visiting Srinagar for the formulating a broader unity on the basis of the consensus formula arrived at in the GEJAC. The leaders, however, flayed the Govt for not issuing orders for release of DA in favour of PSU employees simultaneously and urged that the orders should be issued in favour of PSU employees for release of DA at 16% soon after Darbar opens at Srinagar .
