KISHTWAR, May 2: District Congress Committee Kishtwar has alleged that a fake gun license racket was operating in Kishtwar and more than 11000 licences have been issued to strangers hailing from out side state who have never worked in or visited Kishtwar.
In a statement issued to press, Pardeep Singh Parihar president DCC Kishtwar has alleged that 11000 fake gun licenses allegedly signed by District Magistrate have been issued to non-state subjects who have never visited Kishtwar and have not served here. He has further said that issuing licence to strangers clearly indicates that there is a racket involved in the scandal and there is every apprehension that high profile persons may be involved in the racket who has managed the documents from out side state.
Parihar has said that official record reveals that so far, 11000 fake gun licences have been issued on the basis of fictitious documents in favour of strangers during the last two years.
Pardeep Singh Parihar urged upon Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to hold a high level inquiry to book the culprits.
