J&K SKK organizes painting competition | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, May 2: J&K Samaj Kalyan Kendra (SKK) organized a painting competition on the theme of ‘Biodiversity Conservation’ at Kendra Secondary School for Hearing Handicapped, Shahidi Chowk Jammu. Twenty hearing/speech disabled students of the School participated in the competition along with 20 normal students from Govt. Girls’ Middle School R N Pura, Jammu; under National Environment Awareness Campaign Project of World Wide Fund For Nature(WWF). The disabled boys and girls of the Kendra School displayed their artistic talent through pencil and brush work by drawing varied paintings on the given theme of Biodiversity Conservation along with normal students. Bhushan Kesar, a renowned and decorated artist of the State acted as Judge for the paintings and a good number of Governing Body members of J&K Samaj Kalyan Kendra also attended the event. Prizes of pocket calculators with pen sets were distributed to the first three best paintings judged in Senior Group and Junior Group. First and Second prizes in the Senior Group were won by Ritu Choudhary and Sonia Kumari of class 9th of Kendra School and Taniya from Girls School was awarded third prize in this group. In the Junior Section all the prizes were won by the children of the Kendra School. Jyoti Chaudhary, Sudha Verma and Arpita annexed first, second and third prizes respectively. All the winners in this group belonged to 7th class of the Kendra School.
