| Court frames corruption charges against SFC chief manager | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, May 02: Special judge anti-corruption, A K Koul today framed corruption charges against SFC chief manager S C Chopra.He was alleged to be involved in a case registered against him
under section 5(2) read with section 5(1) (d) of Prevention of Corruption Act and sections 120-B and 471 of RPC.
Framing corruption charges, the judge observed that Chopra, in his capacity as SFC chief manager, hatched a criminal conspiracy with other accused and prepared a fictitious document (notice of
termination of hypothecation agreement) on April 30, 1996, bearing the signatures of Mewa Ram when the latter had died almost five years before.
The accused used this fictitious document to cause loss to the state and unlawful gain to the beneficiaries. As omission and commission amounted to criminal misconduct on the part of the
accused, the court framed charges against him and ordered trial of the case. ( JNF)
