| Abhishek, Jaswinder enter Jr Billiards final | | |  EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, May 02: Abhishek and Jaswinder Singh today reached the final of junior snooker event in the ongoing Jammu District Open Billiards and Snooker Championship at Billiards Hall, MA Stadium, here.
Earlier, in the semi-finals, Abhishek defeated Gagandeep Singh in straight frames while Jaswinder outplayed Nitin Sharma 3-2 in a close contest.
In first 50 up frames game, Abhishek hardly faced any difficulty in making it a win while Jaswinder underwent tough moments before he surpassed fighting Nitin 3-2.
In all, eight entries were received in junior billiards resulting into first round of quarterfinals that played today. In quarterfinals too, two of the scheduled matches ended in walkovers.
Meanwhile, according to the organizers, the senior billiards competition shall start tomorrow.
The Detailed Results: Semifinals: Abhishek bt Gagan Deep Singh 3-0 (50-34, 50-33, 50-25); Jaswinder Singh bt Nitin Sharma 3-2 (50-40, 48-50, 50-22, 33-50, 50-43).
Quarterfinals: Nitin Sharma bt Janu Gupta 2-0 (50-48,50-42); Jaswinder Singh bt Bhanu Gupta 2-0 (50-20, 50-28); Abhishek got walkover Saurav; Gagandeep got walkover Noman Manzoor.
