Crop inspection in Bishnah villages | | | Early Times Report SAMBA, May 3: Deputy Commissioner (DC), Jammu Sanjeev Verma conducted on spot crop inspection in Bishnah villages here today. Deputy Commissioner (DC) carried out the inspection in Chak Smail, Sai, Sohagpur, Sarore and adjoining villages. Assistant Commissioner, Revenue, Chief Agriculture Officer and other concerned officers accompanied the DC. Dismaying over certain flaws in the records, the DC directed the revenue officers to update the records of proprietary rights of lands with all accuracy. He said that such irregularities on part of the revenue authorities affect the functioning of the department. He also instructed the ACR to enquire into the matter and find out the erring officers or officials so that no such thing is repeated in future. Verma described timely and prompt crop inspection as of utmost significance for accurate assessment of the damage. ‘This will also help the farmers to get the required compensation in a more cohesive manner’, he added. During the inspection, the DC found that some of the officers have not kept the village maps in their offices which show their extreme negligence towards their duties. He asked the concerned authorities to ensure that no such carelessness is done in future. Interacting with the farmers in these villages, the DC assured them that all their problems will be looked into for redressal. He also assured them that they will get due compensation for their damaged crops.
