| MVD constitutes team to check selling of unauthorized material | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, May 3: Motor Vehicles Department has constituted a team of officers and officials comprising Assistant Transport Commissioner and Motor Vehicle Inspectors to keep a check on unauthorized dealers for selling of Registration Number Plates, Safety glasses, black tinted films, pressure horns, halogen lams etc.
Superintendent of Police (South) has also deputed a police squad to deal with these dealers for selling of unauthorized material. Dealers involved in selling of unauthorized material included car planet, shop No.208/A Shivaji Market, Railway Road, Nanak Nagar, Jammu, NU-Look Car Accessories, 45 B/C Gandhinagar, opposite Aquaf Market Jammu, Royal Choice, 5-AB Gandhinagar Jammu, the New Choice, Gorkha, temple lane, sector-4, Nanak Nagar Jammu (manufacturing unauthorized number plates) and creations, Gandhinagar Jammu.
During a checking in these shops, it was found that they were violating the provisions of Motor Vehicles Act & Rules. A unit which was found manufacturing illegal number plates has also been seized during the raid. Some illegal material and number plates have also been seized and kept under lock and key by the department and approximately 1000 illegal number plates were destroyed by the squad on the spot.
