Osama's killing unlikely to impact militants in JK | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu/Srinagar, May 3:- The killing of Al Qaeda chief, Osama bin Laden, security experts believe is not going to have a positive impact on militancy in Jammu Kashmir. The experts say the killing on the contrary shall demoralize the militants and the separatists. They also expect a backlash against Pakistan. “The operation that left Osama dead would not have been successful without logistical support from Pakistan”, they said. A senior police official said that since Al Qaeda had no base in Jammu Kashmir. “Therefore, Osama's killing will not change the contours of militancy in the state”, he said. Justifying putting the state on high alert, the officer said: “Nobody knows which way the wind will blow and hence a high alert was sounded in the state so that militants operating in the state were not able to destabilize peace.”
