Bhalla dedicates upgraded high school to Qasim Nagar residents

JAMMU, May 3: Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation Raman Bhalla on the inaugural ceremony of the high school, Qasim Nagar , said that central government has allocated Rs 60 crore under Rashtriya Madhyamic Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) for opening and upgrading of High and Higher Secondary Schools in every constituency of the State with latest infrastructural facilities adding 69 schools would be upgraded under the scheme across the state.
Director, School Education Gulzar Ahmed Qureshi, Chief Education Officer, Natha Ram Dingra, Zonal Education Officer, Gandhi Nagar, S Santokh Singh besides teaching, non-teaching staff , students and locals were present on the occasion.
He further informed that Rs. 58 lakh would be spent on construction of additional rooms and 15 lakh for science laboratories in each newly upgraded high and higher secondary school across the State. He said the Government has earmarked Rs. 25000 each for renovation of high school infrastructure and Rs. 50000 for Higher Secondary School infrastructure under RAMSA.
He said that government is making all out efforts to eradicate illiteracy from every nook and corner of the state by opening and upgrading scores of new schools. He said today the Government institutions have highly qualified and meritorious staff and better infrastructure adding that the schools also achieved cent percent results in board examinations. He said the Government is also providing scholarships, free uniforms and free books to the children upto 8th class.
To ease rush in city schools, he said, the Government has opened 12 new schools in Gandhi Nagar constituency so that the students could get education at their doorstep institutions.
Earlier, the Minister visited Belicharana and Chib Mohalla in Digiana and laid foundation of various development projects including construction of deep drain and 5000 sft four lanes for which Government has earmarked Rs.26 lakh. He asked the executing agency to complete the ongoing projects work within stipulated time frame.
