| JKNPP held demonstration against PHE department at Nai Basti | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, May 3: Residents of Nai Basti, ward No. 23, under the leadership of Satish Kumar (District Jammu General Secy. JKNPP), today staged a massive protest demonstration against PHE department at its office Shastri Nagar, Jammu for irregular water supply in the area for past one year.
He was accompanied by Kamal Singh Jamwal (senior vice president, Jammu Urban, JKNPP), Suresh Verma (General Secretary, Jammu Urban, JKNPP), S D Khajuria (Provincial Secretary, Jammu Urban, JKNPP) and others Rakesh Gupta (Ward President Nai Basti, Ward No. 23), Sunaini Devi, Kartaro Devi, Gunwant Singh and Mohinder Pal.
The protest became unstable, when on reaching PHE office; protestors came to know that the XEn of the area and other office bearers were absent no body was ready to listen to the grievances of the protestors. They alleged that even after approaching PHE department number of times, no action has been taken yet by the concerned department.
Addressing the gathering, Pushvinder Singh (State Vice President, Young Panthers) alleged that, with the onset of summers and Darbar Move, Jammuites usually face such type of difficulties such as water shortage and electricity hassles.
“We are facing great hardships, owing to the apathy of PHE administration. On repetitive complaints with the department, problem is as it is”, said Sunaini Devi, one aggrieved local of the said area.
