Sweltering summers, sweating Jammu | Power cuts adding to woes of people | | Early Times Report JAMMU, May 03 : Senior leader of Pradesh Youth Congress Narinder Gupta has expressed concern over the long curtailment of power in Jammu city and demanded uninterrupted power supply in all those areas where the electronic meters have been installed. In a statement issued Gupta said that the government has promised before installing electronic meters that their will be no curtailment in the power supply after the installation of electronic meters. He stated that presently almost all areas of Jammu city have been covered under electronic meters by the power department, but there is no improvement in the power supply. The department is collecting rent regularly from the domestic use of electricity and there is no any kind of theft of power. He further stated that there is heavy consumption of power in industries and other commercial installations and most of these have not been covered under the electronic meters and also there is apprehension of power theft. He urged the government to provide regular power supply in all those areas of Jammu city who have been covered under electronic meters.
