Addressing a media conference here today Surinder Radotra president of Association said that on their solemn assurance given by the Govt. to them, they had suspended their 30 days long fast on to death by 2800 REZ.
The association threatened of reviving the agitation including fast unto death at Srinagar, if there demands are not conceded at earliest.
It was demanded that all agriculture technocrats serving as Rehbar-e-Ziraat for last 5 years should be given the regular grade of JAEO since many of them had crossed and many of them will be soon crossing maximum age limit for the govt. job/service.
We had also written to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram, UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar and Union Minister for Renewal Energy Farooq Abdullah drawing their attention towards gross injustice being meted to us by the State Govt, said Radotra.
Maneet Singh vice president of Association said that both the houses of legislature had expressed their serious concern over the fast unto death resorted by all of aggrieved technocrats and both the houses had appealed to govt. to negotiate with fasting technocrats and concede their demands accordingly. MY Tarigami CPI (M) MLA was deputed by the houses to act as a mediator and facilitate withdrawal of fast unto death agitation by the technocrats.
It was on his assurance given on behalf of govt. and entire legislature that we had suspended our agitation, informed the president.
