Govt keen to provide all infrastructural facilities to rural areas: Bhalla | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, May 4-Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation Raman Bhalla accompanied with minister for Medical and Technical Education on Wednesday laid foundation stone of 3-storey Revenue Complex at Ranbir Singh Pura, coming up at an estimated cost of Rs. 4.01 crore. MLA R S Pura, Garu Ram Bhagat, MLA Suchetgarh Choudhary Sham Lal, District Development Commissioner, Jammu Sanjeev Verma, Superintending Engineer P L Bhushan, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Ashwani Khajuria, eminent personalities of sub-division besides other senior officers of revenue, relief, R&B, PHE, sarpanchs and panchs were present on the occasion. Addressing a large gathering, Bhalla informed that the complex would be constructed on 14000 sft each floor area on modern lines with facilities of meeting hall, tehsildars offices, treasury office, naib-tehsildar office, deputy commissioner secretariat, waiting hall and conference hall with toilet blocks. He said on the completion of the complex, the revenue related problems of the 4-lakh populace of 58 panchayats of R. S. Pura and Suchetgarh areas would be solved under one roof. The minister asked the R&B authorities to complete the construction works of the building within stipulated time frame so that the locals could solve their revenue related problems at their doorstep office. He said Government is formulating a comprehensive plan for opening of Niabats in every corner of the State including remote and far-off areas of the State so that the people are facilitated regarding tracing the land management and revenue records at their doorsteps offices. Bhalla said that Government is committed to provide people-friendly administration to the people of the State adding that several revolutionary initiatives have been taken in revenue department in mitigating the revenue related issues of the people. Regarding land deficiency compensation to displaced families of 1947, 1965 and 1971, Bhalla said Centre Government has earmarked Rs. 49 crore package to State Government which was distributed among them in arranging open darbars in their respective colonies. He said Government has enhanced land deficiency compensation from Rs. 25000 to 1.50 lakh in favour of each refugee family adding that a memorandum of Rs. 1775 crore package has been submitted to centre Government for one time settlement of displaced family’s issues. On the demand of locals, the minister announced one water cooler in the complex of SDM office, R. S Pura for the convenience of visiting people. Speaking on the occasion, R S Chib greeted the people on the occasion and said coalition Government is committed to provide all infrastructural facilities to the people of rural areas at par with urban pockets. He asked the people to personally monitor the quality of ongoing development works in their respective areas adding that people cooperation is imperative in completing the projects within stipulated time frame.
