| Little Flower enters final of U-16 Cricket | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
AKHNOOR, May 04: Little Flower School today reached the final after they outplayed Shanty Colony Akhnoor by three wickets in semifinals of the ongoing under-16 cricket tournament, organised by Singh Cricket Club in cooperation with Akhnoor Tehsil Cricket Committee at Government Higher Secondary School, here.
Batting first, after winning the toss, Shanty Colony set a target of 120 runs for the loss of seven wickets in stipulated 16 overs, which, in reply, Little Flower chased in 13.1 overs for seven.
Sanjeev was highest run getter with 23 in his account while Neeraj and Vishav contributed 14 and 11 runs respectively. From Littler Flower, Arun Sharma claimed two wickets, followed by Abitash Sharma, Akash, Rajesh and Vinod, who shared apiece each.
Later, Littler Flower attained the goal making 122 runs for the loss of seven wickets sparing 2.5 overs of their innings.
Vinod Kumar was top scorer with 35 runs while Romi and Deepak Kumar contributed 14 and 11 runs respectively. Sanjeev bagged two wickets from Shanty Colony while Bhupinder, Neeraj and Smkash took one each.
For his match winning innings of 35 runs and one wicket, Vinod was declared man of the match. Today’s match was officiated by Davinder Sharma and Vikas Bali as umpires. Arjun Kumar was scorer.
