| Girl jumps into river, saved later | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Srinagar, May 4 : An unidentified 16-year-old girl jumped into river Jehlum near General Post Office (GPO) bund,official sources said here today.
The girl was a resident of Ajas Bandipora.
However, people and houseboat owners present in the area immediately jumped into the river and rescued her.
She was later admitted to SMHS hospital, they said, adding it was not immediately clear why she took this extreme step.
Police have initiated proceedings, they said.
