Fake currency racket busted, Rs.3 lakh recovered

Police today busted a gang involved in circulation of fake currency notes in Jammu and arrested four persons in this connection and recovered fake currency notes worth Rs. three lakh from their possession.
Acing on a tip off Incharge Police Post Talab Tillo ASI Parvez Ahmed arrested four persons belonging to Kashmir valley and recovered fake currency notes of Rs 500 and Rs.1000 denomination worth Rs.three lakh from their possession.
Those arrested included Fayaz Ahmed son of Abdul Rehman Rather resident of Aung Anantnag, Abdul Rashid son of Mohammed Shaban son of Salor of Pahalgam, Mubarak Ahmed Bhat son of Mohammed Mushtaq Ahmed Bhat resident of Shalipara Kulgam and Mohammed Ayoub son of Khazir Mohammed of Thajwara Anantnag.
A case FIR NO 174/06 under section 489-B/389-C RP has been registered at Police Station Nowzabad and the accused persons are being interrogated to ascertain their further involvement and also the source from where they have procured these fake currency notes.
