Crack down on illegal Ultrasound clinics continue, 2 more sealed | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, MAY 05- A team of officers led by Director Health Services, Jammu, Dr Ashok Sharma, on Thursday sealed two ultrasounds setups in Jammu city for not being registered under PNDT, Act. Dr Ashok Sharma, along with Deputy Director Health Services (HQ), Chief Medical Officer, Jammu, Ist Class Magistrate and others conducted a surprise check of the Ultrasound setups at M/S Triveni Nursing Home, and Medi Care Nursing Home in Gandhi Nagar area. During the checking, the team of officers sealed the Ultrasound setups at the twin nursing homes as these were being run without securing proper permission. Besides, the team of officers conducted various other ultrasound clinics and found most of them locked. An unauthorized ultrasound by the name M/s Alpha Scan Centre was found at 1-A Gandhinagar Jammu but at time of inspection it was closed. However, on enquiry from the neighbourers it was learnt that earlier the clinic was functioning but now no procedures are being performed in the clinic for the last three years. A message through neighbour, was conveyed to the proprietor of the clinic asking him to remove the sign board and come to the office alongwith record to justify displaying of the sign board. The team also visited Magnum Ultrasound and Diagnostic Centre, 380-A Gandhinagar, Jammu which was also found closed and it came to light that the radiologist of the clinic has expired and now the clinic is not functional. Later, the team visited Poly Scan Clinic Kachhi Chowni Jammu and on finding it locked, a notice was pasted at the establishment asking the proprietor of the clinic not to perform ultrasounds and attend the office alongwith records.
