| Notification issued for Mendhar block | | Panchayat elections | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
POONCH, MAY 05-Chief Electoral Officer J&K who is also election authority issued notification for conduct of Panchayat Election for Mendhar block of Poonch district today.
As per the notification candidates contesting for Panch and Sarpanch can deposit their nomination forms till May 11 I , While the scrutiny of nomination papers will be held on May 12, 2011 and last date for withdrawal of nomination forms is fixed on May14 . Polling will be conducted on June 2, 2011 from 8 a m to 2 p m and counting of votes would start at 3 p m on the same day.
District administration has made elaborate arrangements to ensure free, fair and smooth conduct of Panchayat election in the block. In this connection district administration has deployed 4 zonal magistrates, 8 sectoral magistrates, 21 returning officers and 28 assistant returning officers on polling duty in the block. As many as 418 polling booths have been set up to conduct elections for 48 Panchayats with 418 Panch constituencies.
The total number of electorates in the block is 63218, including 31592 female voters.
