| S M Sahai inaugurates Shaheed Zulfikhar Ali Cup 2011 in Kargil | | | Early Times Report
KARGIL, May 5: I.G.P Kashmir S M Sahai today inaugurates Shaheed Zulfikhar Ali Cricket Memorial Cup 2011 at Khree Sultan Choo Stadium Biamathang, organized by District Police under Civic Action Programme of J&K Police.
On the opening ceremony I.G.P Kashmir, S M Sahai was the Chief Guest.
He said that police department is the largest Job providing Department in the State and said that the youth of Kargil should strive hard to maintain the peace and prosperity of the District as the district is know for its peaceful atmosphere.
The civic action programme of the J&K Police is an ongoing process and various other developmental activities will be carried out in the Future also, he added. In this tournament 56 teams from all the blocks of Kargil District are participating and on the inaugural function all the players of the 56 teams participated in the Oath Ceremony.
Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali was martyred at Gow Kadal Chowk, Maisuma Srinagar in the year 2009 in a grenade Attack and this tournament is a tribute to the martyr.
On this occasion the Mother of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali along with brother and two sisters were also present.
On this occasion Incharge LAHDC, Chief Executive Councilor Haji Ghulam Amir, Brigadier 121 (I) infantry Brigade S.M.Sawahney, MLA Zanskar Feroz Zanskar Khan, Executive Councilor for Works and Power Ghulam Rasool Naqvi, Deputy Commissioner Kargil M.Raju, S.P Kargil Jenab Javid Iqbal Matoo and other District Officer and prominent citizen were also present.
