SRTC retirees demonstrate

Jammu, May 5: J&K SRTC Volunteer Retired Employees Association today held protest demonstration in front of MD SRTC Office against non-implementation of Govt Order.
Addressing protestors, Dev Raj Bali president criticized the adamant attitude of the J&K SRTC management for their non implementation of Govt, order No.237-F of 2010 dated 30.08.2010 regarding Modification of Golden Handshake/voluntary retirement scheme for the employees of unviable State Public Sector undertakings (PSUs) vide cabinet decision No. 189/16/2010 dated 26.08.2010 for their false egoism.
He informed that in the said order it is clearly mentioned that for the clearance of statutory under court orders and more important in respect of employees who have retired normally or whose VRS/GHS cases have been already settled, at least 25% of the budgetary support being provided to corporations shall be specifically earmarked for payment of gratuity, levy enhancement and or remitted CPF/CMPF along with amount of interest thereupon.
Bali disclosed that when the employees approached Finance Department, they said the department has already sent Rs 30 crores budgetary support out of which 25%, which comes Rs 7.50 crores, for clearing the dues of VRS/GHS employees but till date VRS employees have not received their dues. He also demanded CP fund interest, pending COLA arrears, 6th pay commission and time bound promotion.
Among others who participated in the protest included Surinder Singh; D N Sharma, B V Sharma, Asan Elahi, Surjit Singh, Javed Iqbal, Gulshan Singh, Mohd Sharief and others.
