SRINAGAR, May 5: Going on a Central deputation, 1982-batch IAS officer, Khursheed Ahmed Ganai, has been appointed as Joint Secretary in union Ministry of Information & Broadcasting. He has been
functioning as Principal Secretary of Planning and Development Department since August 26th, 2010. Previously, Ganai held theall-important posting of Principal Secretary to Chief Minister (Omar
Abdullah) from January 6th, 2009.
B.E (Hons) with M Tech and MBA, Ganai had previously remained posted as Commissioner-Secretary Agriculture and Agriculture Production, Commissioner-Secretary General Administration Department, Resident Commissioner in New Delhi, Commissioner-Secretary CAPD, DC Doda and DC

Official sources said that Ganai would be relieved on the first day of Darbar here on May 9th. Charge of the all-important post of Principal Secretary Planning is likely to be assigned temporarily to Chief
Minister’s Principal Secretary, B B Vyas.
