Early Times Report
JAMMU, May 6: A meeting of All Jammu and Kashmir Backward Classes Union was held under the chairmanship of Jenab Abdul Ghani Teeli, President Teli Community, in presence of Ayodhya Kumar Manawa, President Prajapati (Kumhar) Sabha, Abdul Qadir, General Secretary Dhobi Community, Madan Lal Dogra, President Jheewer Community, Kasturi Lal Basotra, Senior Leader Sain (Barber) Samaj and Bansi Lal Choudhary, Convener, B.C.U.
In the meeting, Kasturi Lal Basotra said that the State Government has made a complete violation regarding the classification of “Other Bachward Classes” for the State Government Services.
The State Government has illegally and unconstitutionally given the due share of Mandal Commission identified OBC (Other Social Castes) to unidentified artificial group of Backward Classes under the grab of RBA and ALC.
These artificial groups of OBC are enjoying 25% Vertical reservation in the State Government services at the cost of real OBC’s. Moreover these artificial groups of OBC doesn’t qualify the parameters vide para no:- 82,83 and 84 enshrined in the virdect-1992 of Hon’ble Supreme Court of India in case Indra Sawhney vs Union of India.
The State rulers are still continuing the over-ruled Justice Anand Committee Report-1977 for the identification of “Other Backward Classes” in Jammu and Kashmir State. The Anand Committee-1977 report is only to give the benefits of reservation to the kith and kins of the rulers of the state and have totally neglected the real OBC’s those who are facing discrimination from centuries together but only Mandal Commission Report-1980 have given a ray of light.
Bansi Lal Choudhary, Convener BCU said that the next members in the state Backward Classes Commission should be from the OBC communities other than Backward OBC communities whose members have already remained in the commission in the past. In short next commission members should be from Bazighir Community, Kumhar (Potter), teeli, Dhobi, Mirasi, Sansi, Siklikar, Kul-Faqir, Supri-Wattal and other most depressed classes of OBC as these castes have been kept away from thses posts.
The house appealed to the whole society of the state in order to maintain sanctity of brotherhood and communal harmony in the state and country, we should respect every religion with great love.
