5/6/2011 10:42:01 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, May 6 : Impressed by the policies and programmes of the party,
a large number of people from Dogra Hall area of Jammu city today
joined Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Those joined PDP included some
eminent social activists. Senior PDP leader Abdul Rashid Malik
convinced them to join the party.
Addressing a function to welcome who joined the party, Abdul Rashid
Malik said that policies and programmes of the PDP are formulated by
accommodating wishes and aspirations of all sections of the society.
He said that since its formation PDP has been pursuing the pro-people
agenda to address basic problems of the common masses.
Recalling the tenure of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed as Chief Minister of the
state, Malik said that all regions and sub-regions were treated
equally during the PDP-Congress regime in the State. He further
reminded that various developmental projects were started for the
beautification of Jammu city. He, however, regretted that after
formation of the present regime headed by Omar Abdullah developmental
activities have been stalled.
“What to say of starting new projects this regime has even stalled
projects started by the previous government”, he said and regretted
that performance of the present government appears only on papers.
Welcoming those who have joined PDP, Malik said that they have to
aggressively take up peoples’ issue on the streets.
Prominent among those who joined PDP included Salman Bhatti, Choudhary
James, Nirmala, Vinod Kumar, Renu Kalyan and others.
