| Govt’s performance appears only on papers: PDP | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, May 6 : Impressed by the policies and programmes of the party, a large number of people from Dogra Hall area of Jammu city today joined Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Those joined PDP included some eminent social activists. Senior PDP leader Abdul Rashid Malik convinced them to join the party. Addressing a function to welcome who joined the party, Abdul Rashid Malik said that policies and programmes of the PDP are formulated by accommodating wishes and aspirations of all sections of the society. He said that since its formation PDP has been pursuing the pro-people agenda to address basic problems of the common masses. Recalling the tenure of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed as Chief Minister of the state, Malik said that all regions and sub-regions were treated equally during the PDP-Congress regime in the State. He further reminded that various developmental projects were started for the beautification of Jammu city. He, however, regretted that after formation of the present regime headed by Omar Abdullah developmental activities have been stalled. “What to say of starting new projects this regime has even stalled projects started by the previous government”, he said and regretted that performance of the present government appears only on papers. Welcoming those who have joined PDP, Malik said that they have to aggressively take up peoples’ issue on the streets. Prominent among those who joined PDP included Salman Bhatti, Choudhary James, Nirmala, Vinod Kumar, Renu Kalyan and others.
