SC upholds HC judgment on relief to Jammu migrants | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, may 6: The Supreme Court of India in its order upheld the judgment of J&K High Court to provide relief to the Jammu migrants at par with Kashmiri migrants. The Supreme Court in its judgment of July 2006 further directed the governments of Jammu and Kashmir and the union to provide all the arrears of relief the Jammu migrants which included Talwara migrants also. That Talwara (Jammu) migrant have not been provided relief according to the judgment of the Supreme Court. The High Court of Jammu and Kashmir has initiated contempt proceedings against the Relief Commissioner and other authorities unfortunately the government of Jammu and Kashmir has not cared to provided relief to the migrants. We urge your honour to kindly intervene to ensure that the Jammu migrants are provided same treatments which Kashmiri migrants have been receiving. Kashmiri migrants have been provided houses where as Jammu migrants have not been provided even three yards space in their own motherland. In case we are not given justice, we shall be forced to adopt any democratic and peaceful methods to secure justice.
