Display vegetable, fruit rates on Local TV channels: CAPD | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, May 6: Deputy Director Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CAPD) Jammu today conducted an extensive market survey in connection with fixation and display of rates of vegetable and fruits. Matter was discussed in detail with the Deputy Director, Horticulture and Area Marketing Officer, Horticulture and it was deliberated that the Horticulture Department shall ensure the running of strip displaying rates of vegetables and fruits in the local TV channels as well as through news papers for the ready information of the public. Later, the team of officers of CAPD and Horticulture Department visited wholesale vegetable and fruit market, Narwal Jammu where they met with the President of Wholesale Vegetable Association and President of retailer vegetable Association. The President of Retailer Fruit Association was also contacted in the Fruit and Vegetable market, Parade, Jammu. They were asked to ensure the fixation of rates of vegetables and fruits everyday and display of uniform rates in each shop for the convenience of the general public. Traders were further asked for charging a sensible profit as per the notification of CAPD department and not to cheat the consumers. The Horticulture Department has intimated that daily rates of the Fruits and Vegetables in various mandies of Jammu are also displayed in the website www.agmarknet.nic.in for the information of the public.
