| Excise dept raid Rajouri villages, illicit liquor seized | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Rajouri, May 6, .Sleuths of excise department Range Rajouri conducted
raids in various villages of border district Rajouri on Friday and
destroyed at least 550 litres of Lahaan and seized 220 litres of liquor from
their possession and four persons have been arrested in this
connection .
The official sources said that a team of excise officials led by
Excise and Taxation officer Rajouri Poonch Range , Afaq Ahmed
conducted day long raids in at least ten villages in Rajouri district
and destroyed 550 litres of Lahan beside seizing 220 litres of liquor from
their possession . The villages raided include Dalhori, Argi, Potha,
Saranu, Danghri , Baljaraallan, Katharian, Panjpeer , Sasal kote ,
Daarian . Four persons identified as Kamlesh Devi wife of Kushori La
of Sasaal kote , Kewel Krishan son of Thani Raam of Darrian Garaati ,
Bhushan Kumaar son of Chedt Raam of Argi and Tirath Raam son of Dina
Nath have been arrested in this regard and a case has been registered
in This regard . Sources said the team led by Inspector Sajid Majeed
conducted these raids under the direct supervision of ETO Range Afaaq
Ahmed .
