NABARD organizes SDP on DTP | | |  EARLY TIMES REPORT KATHUA 6.5.2011- National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) an Apex level rural development financial institution organised a Skill Development Programme (SDP) on Computer Aided Desk Top Publishing through Society for Development & Training, Kathua. The programme was organised at Regional Institute of Management and Computer Science (RIMCS campus) to provide training to 30 rural entrepreneurs. The function was presided over by Mrs. Zahida Praveen Khan, Deputy Development Commissioner, Kathua. The programme was attended by Shri Aman Kalsotra, DDM, NABARD, Shri R C Sharma, Lead District Manager, State Bank of India, Shri R K Kalsotra, Associate LBO, Shri Mohinder Karopia, Director, R-SETI, Shri Baryam Munde, General Secretary, Society for Development and Training, Kathua. The SDP will be conducted in Computer aided Desk Top Publishing, which will last for 6 weeks wherein 30 participants will be trained in usage of various software’s applications viz. Basics in computer, Page Maker, Photoshop, Corel draw language, internet etc.The participants came from Block Kathua, Barnoti, Hiranagar as also from far flung area of Billawar are part of the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, Mrs. Zahida Praveen Khan, DDC, Kathua congratulated NABARD on providing free of cost training to rural entrepreneurs through SFDT, Kathua. She impressed upon the participants that in today's world not having computer knowledge is synonymous to being illiterate as computer knowledge is today sought in all sort of works. She advised the trainees, that in today's world of cut throat competition of where jobs are reducing, population is increasing, innovative skill are being sought in market, this training is going to be extremely important to them. She advised them to use the talent acquired for generating income and enhancing entrepreneurial abilities. She also encouraged them to get registered with Employment Department / DRDA etc. to avail loan for setting up of units etc. Shri Aman Kalsotra, District Development Manager, Kathua informed the participants about the details of the training provided. He impressed upon the participants that to learn the new skills and hone in their entrepreneurial ability. During the course of training, officers from various departments will be interacting with the participants and explain to them the schemes of their department. DDM requested the participants to come forward and take benefits of the schemes being implemented by various departments. Shri R C Sharma, Lead District Manager, Kahua requested the participants to feel free to discuss, their problems if any, to enable banks for helping rural people in setting up self-employment units. He also asked them to come forward to avail loans from the banks. Shri R K Kalsotra, Associate LBO, SBI impressed upon the participants to come forward in learning new skills and availing loan from banks, as banks are their to help them in setting up of their units. Shri Baryam Munde, General Secretary, Society for Development & Training assured all the participants of quality training through the institute. He thanked DDC, Kathua for inaugurating the training programme.
