| New Panches call on Mufti | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Srinagar, May 7: A delegation of newly elected panches and surpanches from Kulgam today called on the PDP Patron Mufti Mohammed Sayeed at his residence in Srinagar.
The gross root representatives at Village level were introduced individually to Mufti who congratulated them on receiving a positive mandate for their electors. Present on the occasion were Nazir Ahmed Laway District President Kulgam, Peer Mohd Hussain , S K Raina and Farooq Ahmed Zonal president Kulgam.
In his brief observation on the occasion Mufti though the panchayat elections were only half way through, yet it was satisfying that people has recognized the strength and potential of local governance. He said it was crucial for these village level institutions to deliver in order to redeem the faith of the people placed in them.
